Calle Bajondillo antes Pension, Paper Fine Art Print 15 x 18 in
"Calle Bajondillo antes Pension" – Fine Art Paper Print by Freddy Caston
Capture the architectural geometry, and brilliant Mediterranean sunlight of Southern Spain, circa 1966. Freddy Caston has transformed a hillside in Torremolinos, Malaga, into a stunning arrangement of light, shadow, and structure.
The composition utilizes a rising perspective. Caston guides the viewer's eye up Calle Bojondillo, looking toward the Torre De Pimentel" (or "Tower" from which the town takes it's name). Caston plays with crisp contrasts—using stark whites, deep-set black windows, and cool blue-gray shadows that crawl across the plaster walls. Tucked along the lower right, a small black cat sits silhouetted against a doorway. The street climbs organically toward the crest of the hill, anchored by the 14th century watchtower rising proudly into a clear, powder-blue sky.
