Corrida #3, Paper Fine Art Print 14 x 18 in

Bring a powerful, tight-angled perspective of the Spanish arena into your home with this spectacular Freddy Caston oil painting paper print. Painted in 2014, this magnificent masterwork serves as a brilliant vertical companion to his wider arena scenes, dropping the viewer right into the heart of the ring to feel the overwhelming scale and raw tension of the sport.

The composition utilizes a commanding close-up view that emphasizes scale and texture. Charging directly toward the viewer in the foreground is the massive, heavy black mass of a charging bull, its broad shoulders cutting across the lower half of the canvas. Standing just beyond is a poised matador in a shimmering white and teal traje de luces (suit of lights). With athletic elegance, he sweeps an enormous, heavily textured magenta-pink capote (cape) through the air, lined with a vivid splash of lemon yellow. Framing the entire scene is a stormy, multi-layered dark indigo-blue sky and sun-baked golden sand that makes the central action pop with incredible intensity.
